“Development”, has been an influent specter but boring and dull on local communities and villages and not allow them to breathe easy and enjoy pure life. This specter has induced the villagers are not rational, and should learn rationality and development from others.
So far, the specter has been dominated on villages. Contractors 'development', headed by state executive bodies, were advocators of the specter. The paper's emphasis on rural communities' cultural beliefs, makes two criticisms to the literature and practice of development in the country: The first critique is a nostalgic one and oppose "nightmare of development" with a “field language”.
